Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, assemble, repair, and sew large industrial tarps

• Operate wire rope cutting machines which involves lifting 50lbs spools over 40 times throughout the shift, and occasionally lift 75lbs
• Ship company product and record shipments in ERP system
• Pick and stage products
• Track inventory
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained
• Operate dolly and Forklift on ocassion to loading and unloading of supplies
• Inspect products for damage or defects
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by performing housekeeping duties and cleaning
• Other duties as needed to maintain a functional warehouse environment

• $18-20/hr depending on experience

• Hours are Monday – Friday 7am-3:30pm
• Some overtime as needed

• 2-3yrs of shipping and receiving experience
• Ability to handle repetitive lifting of 50lbs and occasional lifting of 75lbs, team lift of 100lbs
• Forklift experience preferred 
• Basic computer skills
• Comfortable standing and bending throughout the entire shift
• Ability to operate machinery safely and effectively 
• Works effectively both independently and as a team
• Ability to work well in a small team environment
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and extensive background check

• MIG Weld on aluminum to build retractable tarping systems
• Measure, cut, assemble, repair, and install materials needed to complete tarping system for semi-trailers
• Operates various equipment including drills, scissor lift, grinders, buffers, pallet jacks, brake press, shears and other machinery
• Performs measurements utilizing a ruler and adds or subtracts fractions
• Move materials from the ground to tables which will involve bending, kneeling, and crawling on the ground
• Utilizes hand tools to build various beams and rails
• Inspects products for quality
• Packages and labels materials
• Read and interpret instructions and written orders
• Lifts materials weighing up to 75lbs

• $19-22/hr depending on experience

• Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm
• Must be available to work until 5pm for overtime when needed, or as early as 5:30am
• Overtime on Saturdays is mandatory when needed

• MIG Welding experience
• Ability to make visually appealing welds that need to meet specific cosmetic standards
• Knowledge and expertise with a variety of hand tools
• Must have experience using power drills and other machinery
• Good math skills and ability to read a ruler
• Not afraid of heights, will be going up in a scissor lift roughly 10-12ft
• Ability to stand, bend, and twist for long hours
• Comfortable moving from a kneeling/crawling position to standing on a regular basis
• Ability to lift 75lbs repeatedly 
• Must be able to work at a fast pace and perform repetitive duties
• High regard for safety

The Advance Group has partnered with an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of returnable racks and dunnage solutions for the automotive industry. They are currently seeking dependable and motivated MIG Welders to join their growing team in Petersburg, MI.

Job Description for Welder

As a MIG Welder, you will fabricate and assemble automotive racks and metal structures using welding equipment, hand tools, and measuring devices. Team members are expected to maintain quality standards, follow safety procedures, and help ensure products meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities of Welder

• Perform MIG welding on automotive racks and metal components
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to specifications
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Inspect parts and finished products for quality and accuracy
• Identify defects or inconsistencies in materials, equipment, or production processes
• Use hand and power tools as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications for Welder

• 1–3 years of MIG welding experience preferred
• Recent welding graduates are encouraged to apply
• Must be able to pass a weld test
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to read measurements and follow specifications
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and safety practices

Schedule for Welder 

1st Shift

• Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Optional Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Pay for Welder 

• Starting pay: $20.00/hour
• Full-time opportunity
• Optional overtime available

Job Duties of Welders include:

• MIG, TIG and Flux Core Welding in a heavy industrial environment
• Metal grinding and Fabricating of finished metal products
• Install and repair various equipment and components 
• Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
• Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance
• Read blueprints to meet product specifications

Requirements of Welders include:

• Able to read various measuring devices 
• At least 3 years' experience in MIG, TIG and Flux core welding in a steel manufacturing environment 
• Ability to read blueprints 

Compensation for Welders:

• Starting pay is $22-23hr for less than 3 years of relevant experience 
• Starting pay is $26-$32hr for 3+ years of relevant experience 

Hours for Welders:

• 2nd Shift: 4:45pm-1:15am
• Must be available for occasional Saturdays and OT as needed
