The Advance Group has partnered with a leader in the automotive industry looking for a 2nd shift Direct Hire Tooling Tech for the Molding department. The position will work 3pm-11:30pm with OT on Saturdays as needed. The pay is $21-26/hr. 

This position will execute modifications, engineering changes, and repairing molds.  They will assist the injection molding department by troubleshooting mold operations. 

Qualified candidates:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED with minimum six years direct job related experience or completion of Apprenticeship Program.
  • Associate s Degree in a technical field of study preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read tool designs.
  • Computer skills an asset.
  • Must have Certificate of Qualification.
  • Must have minimum two years production environment experience in injection molding or related field.
  • CNC experience preferred.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 punds on a frequent basis.

Must be a non-smoker.

Tooling Tech for Molding 2nd shift starting rate for a Tech 1 is $21.75 and a tech 2 is $26.75. It would be depending on their skill set.

This position reports directly to the Mold Tooling Team Leader and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Norplas as described below:

Specific Job Duties:

Execute modifications, engineering changes, or repairs of molds within specified time schedules.
Maintain records of work performed as required using PMC System and work order procedure.
Assist injection molding department by troubleshooting mold operations.
Must demonstrate the ability to use required hand tools for the Mold Department and have all tools and equipment required to perform work prior to beginning at Norplas.
Must demonstrate understanding of mold specifications and ensure they are correct in the tool.
Must demonstrate the ability to read tool designs.
Fabricate equipment as required.
Must supply tool list as identified (see attached).

Educational Requirements

Physical Requirements

This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while
standing or walking a minimum of six(6) hours a day and have the ability to carry up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis. Must be capable of performing repetitive motion for four (4) to six (6) hours a day. Ability to climb stairs is necessary.
