Tool Applications Specialist – Cutting-Edge Support for Cutting-Edge Tools!
Are you passionate about precision machining and ready to support customers with real-world solutions? The Advance Group has partnered with a manufacturing facility in Perrysburg, OH, who has a Direct Hire opportunity for a Tool Applications Specialist to play a key role in delivering best-in-class technical support and application expertise to customers across the machining industry.
Tool Applications Specialist Job Duties:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s application support plan.
  • Deliver excellent technical and application support to customers.
  • Help customers determine the best IMCO products for their applications, including feeds and speeds.
  • Conduct research and testing on new and existing products under the direction of the VP.
  • Support product demos and open houses by running metalworking equipment and creating test-cut programs.
  • Assist Customers with questions and issues regarding CNC tooling.
Tool Applications Specialist Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes: horsepower, spindle speed, feed per tooth, etc.
  • Understanding of tooling failure and troubleshooting techniques.
  • CNC Machining experience or applicable training.
  • Experience with 5-axis machining and/or Hermle machines (preferred).
  • Ability to identify materials by industry code (e.g., D2 steel) and apply metallurgical knowledge to tooling.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM, blueprint reading, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of cutting tool geometries, specifications, and coatings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Tool Applications Specialist Hours:
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Tool Application Specialist Pay:
  • Pay Range: $26 – $34 per hour (based on experience)
