The Advance Group is currently seeking a 1st shift Overhead Crane Operator for a steel tube and bar facility located in Holland, OH. The ideal candidate will possess previous experience operating overhead cranes.
Responsibilities of the Overhead Crane Operator:
- Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads
- Depress buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down
- Observes load hookup and determines safety of load
- Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions
- Perform quality inspections
- Operate sit-down propane forklift as needed to load/unload trucks
- Inspects crane for defective parts and completes daily operator checklist
- Notify manager of any defects or malfunctions
- Climb onto truck beds to strap and secure loads
Compensation for the Overhead Crane Operator:
Hours for the Overhead Crane Operator:
- Hours are Monday – Friday 6:30am-3pm
- Overtime on Saturdays if needed and during the week as early as 5am
Requirements of the Overhead Crane Operator:
- Minimum of 1-2 years overhead crane operating experience
- Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50lbs
- High regard for safety
- Comfortable standing all day and working in hot, loud environments
- Comfortable bending, kneeling, and climbing
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to work with precise limits and standards of accuracy
- Positive attitude and ability to take ownership of area
- Self-directed and ability to work independently
- Forklift operating experience preferred
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and extensive background check
