The Advance Group has partnered with a family-owned, high-end furniture manufacturer in Holland, Ohio to find a direct-hire Retail Store Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a brand-new retail location that showcases American made furniture — from the ground up! Responsibilities of Retail Store Manager:
  • Play an active role in developing and launching a brand-new retail store, including layout, displays, and daily operations.
  • Manage and participate in all aspects of the business — from turning on the lights and arranging furniture to greeting customers and handling sales.
  • Lead by example while mentoring, training, and working alongside your team in a hands-on environment.
  • Oversee inventory, deliveries, merchandising, and building maintenance.
  • Participate in the hiring and interviewing process for new team members.
  • Mentor and train another team member to grow into a leadership role — this is a long-term partnership, not a replacement plan.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in a laid-back, story-driven sales environment, focused on connection rather than high-pressure sales.
Requirements for Retail Store Manager:
  • Positive attitude, team player, and strong leadership skills.
  • Commitment to family-oriented, faith-based values and a supportive work culture.
  • Previous experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager in furniture, home furnishings, or large-scale retail environments.
  • Experience overseeing and working alongside a small, hands-on team — not just delegating.
  • Background in inventory management and warehouse operations preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and mentoring abilities.
  • QuickBooks experience highly preferred, or experience with 2 to 3 different retail software systems.
  • Excellent computer skills
Shift for Retail Store Manager:
  • Expected hours: Monday–Saturday, 9:30am–6:00pm (occasional evenings until 7:00pm).
  • Saturdays required, with flexibility for family commitments as needed.
  • Sundays always off.
  • Store opening planned for December 1st, with training opportunities beginning mid-November.
Pay for Retail Store Manager:
  • $60,000–$75,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Quarterly bonuses (estimated $4,000+ per quarter) based on performance, sales, and forecasting goals.
