Maintenance Technician Job Overview

The Advance Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a direct-hire opportunity in Monroe, Michigan. This 1st shift maintenance position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving CNC machines, industrial equipment, HVAC and facility systems, and other production support equipment.

The ideal Maintenance Technician has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, hands-on industrial maintenance experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while following established safety procedures.

This manufacturing facility relies on CNC machinery, production equipment, and facility systems to support daily operations. The Maintenance Technician plays an important role in keeping equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently while minimizing downtime and supporting production.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Technician, you will:

• Inspect CNC machines, production equipment, facility systems, and support equipment to verify operating condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and facility-related maintenance issues.
• Perform scheduled and routine preventive maintenance (PM) on machinery and equipment.
• Complete maintenance jobs and work orders as requested.
• Install, set up, and assist with commissioning new equipment.
• Assist with facility modifications, including piping and electrical wiring changes and additions.
• Use maintenance equipment and tools safely, including hoists, jacks, mills, lathes, drill presses, welders, band saws, forklifts, aerial platforms, grinders, cranes, and hand tools.
• Complete work orders and update equipment maintenance records accurately.
• Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and established maintenance practices.
• Maintain clean, secure, and well-organized work areas and facility grounds.
• Communicate maintenance activities, equipment concerns, and operational issues to management.
• Respond to maintenance needs throughout the facility to help support safe and efficient production.

Maintenance Technician Requirements

To be successful in this industrial maintenance role, you should have:

• A technical degree or 3–5 years of related maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
• Hands-on experience with industrial maintenance equipment and tools.
• Experience working with CNC machinery, production equipment, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance needs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Physical & Working Environment

This Maintenance Technician position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach in various directions.
• Work around heights, electrical systems, industrial machinery, chemicals, and confined spaces while following established safety procedures.
