We are currently seeking CNC Machinists for a small machine shop specializing in high-mix, low-volume production. Experienced CNC Machinists with strong programming and G-code experience are encouraged to apply, and entry-level candidates with CNC experience or recent trade school training will also be considered.
Job Duties for CNC Machinists:
- Set up and operate CNC turning centers and other machining equipment
- Operate primarily Mazak Lathe CNC machines
- Program CNC machines using G-codes and conversational programming
- Use Mazatrol controls to set up and program machines
- Produce a variety of parts in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
- Read and interpret machining information and production requirements
- Monitor machines and inspect parts for quality
- Make machine adjustments as needed
- Work with different materials, tooling, and machining processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- May operate two machines at once when production allows
- May occasionally move to another machine based on production needs
- Opportunity to learn forklift operation, if interested
Requirements for CNC Machinists:
- CNC machining experience preferred; 5–15+ years of experience preferred for experienced Machinist openings
- Strong CNC programming experience required for experienced-level positions
- Strong knowledge and hands-on use of G-codes highly preferred
- Experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol controls is a plus
- Mastercam experience preferred; experience with other CNC programming software may be considered
- High-mix, low-volume machining experience preferred
- Entry-level candidates and recent trade school graduates are encouraged to apply
- Must be able to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Good attitude and ability to work well as part of a team
- Must be able to follow safety procedures and training
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally may need to lift up to 75 lbs.; team lifting or machine assistance is available
- Ability to sit and stand throughout the workday
Shift for CNC Machinists:
- Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm
- Voluntary overtime may be available before or after the regular shift
- Additional overtime may be available on Saturdays and Sundays
Pay for CNC Machinists:
- Experienced CNC Machinist: approximately $29–$32/hr, depending on experience and skill level
- Entry-Level CNC Machinist: $18–$21/hr, depending on experience and skill level
