The Advance Group has an immediate opening for a Lead Process Technician for a Holland area plastics company. This position will train on 1st shift and move to 2nd shift. The 2nd shift hours will be 4:30pm-3am Monday-Friday. Pay will be based on experience.

The Process Technician is responsible for establishing and maintaining molding machine setups, scheduling of shift personnel to meet the production schedule, routine monitoring of the shift to maximize efficiencies and product quality.

Essential Duties:

  • Press, work center, and resource allocation:
  • Assign production personnel to ensure all customer part orders and delivery requirements are met
  • Ensure all production personnel know and understand production standards:
    i. Accuracy and completeness of all necessary production tracking and reporting documents
    ii. Ensure all production personnel understand work requirements and product quality.
  • Communicate any production issues that will impact the weekly / daily schedule in a timely manner.
  • Materials and Materials Handling:
    a. Ensure all materials are prepared for molding by following manufacturers requirements
    b. Ensure all materials are Stored and Allocated correctly to minimize all contamination.
    c. Verify storage / staging locations are clean and maintained.
    d. Ensure documentation from material handler is completed in daily / weekly as needed.
    e. Verify tool locations and assist location of tools with material handler.
  • Processing:
    a. Process all tools using Decoupled process to ensure cycle time, dimensional stability and tool quality / durability.
    b. Established processing parameters and document within DRS system.
    c. Validate the quoted cycle times are met with in a +/- 10% goal
    d. Change molds and start-up injection molding machines in coordination with weekly production schedule.
    e. Follow all standard DRS processes and procedures to maximize machine and labor efficiencies
  • Part Quality:
    a. Train and develop operational staff to achieve daily goals for Safety, Quality, Production.
    b. Training relative to the handling of materials/parts/packaging/assembly/or other special requirements
    c. Use escalation plan for all quality issues, ensure all staff is trained and utilize escalation process. 
  • Safety:
    a. Ensure all employees are using proper PPE for operations.
    b. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimizes hazardous conditions.
  • Training:
    a. Train personnel on all safety related items on Molding / Facility equipment.
    b. Train personnel on proper handling of lift equipment (forklift and crane)
  • Communications:
    a. All changes to weekly schedule are to be communicated immediately.
    b. Tooling / quality / safety issues are to be reported to management as they occur.
