The Advance Group has partnered with a manufacturing company in Belleville, MI who specializes in providing logistics and dispatching for the automotive industry. We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Manager.

The Assistant Manager serves as support to the Manager to ensure third party truckload coverage including FTL, LTL, Ocean, Milk run and expedite shipment of customer freight according to corporate contracts. This includes close oversight of all internal activities that impact service obligations (carrier contract, carrier performance, last minute customer requests, resolution of delayed pickup/delivery, KPI etc.) and has responsible of operation for working shift.

Because this position is responsible for the growth and retention of dedicated opportunities, all direct and extended functions of this role are critical to maintaining a competitive edge and preserving the overall integrity of company services.

Responsible for Operation for working shift

Carrier BID Process & Maintains & Develop Carrier Pools

Support and make solution for additional customer logistics request

Control & Process all of customer transportation order and proper following up until delivery

24/7 on call and responsible for Emergency issue care

Requirements:
B.A. degree or equivalent experience

5+ years of related 3PL service experience within the transportation/logistics/SCM industry

Experience to manage Logistics KPI Report through analysis carrier performance and Evaluating

Experience in all modes of transportation to include heavy haul, Intermodal, Ocean & Customs

Experience & Knowledge of Logistics Contract

Has Local & US National Carrier Pools Resource & Relationship

Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and monitor Continuous Improvement projects

Ability to use a formal approach to project management including the use of tools and techniques

Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage people

Fluid customer interaction at all levels of the organization

Ability to present, explain or train in formal and informal settings

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Power Point functions is required

Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities

Extremely organized and communicative in Company Structure

Ability to handle high volumes of inbound and outbound email

This is a ltemp to hire opportunity, working 40+ hours per week. Two shifts available: 5am-4pm for Monday- Thursday and 3pm-2am for Tuesday- Friday. Pay based on experience. Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and background screen.
