Industrial Sewing Machine Operator – 1st Shift | $17/hr | Toledo, OH

The Advance Group is hiring Industrial Sewing Machine Operators in Toledo, OH to manufacture and repair heavy-duty tarps for semi-trailers. No sewing experience required—just strong mechanical ability and attention to detail.

Pay:

• $17/hour

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
• Must be available to stay until 3:00–4:00 PM as needed
• Occasional overtime on Saturdays

Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, assemble, repair, and sew large industrial tarps
• Operate equipment including industrial sewing machines, grommet machines, heat sealers, and pallet jacks
• Read and interpret work orders and instructions
• Perform measurements using a ruler, including adding/subtracting fractions
• Inspect finished products for quality
• Use hand tools to assist in assembly and repairs
• Move and position materials, including bending, kneeling, and crawling as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Requirements:

• Experience using hand tools and manual machinery
• Strong math skills and ability to read a ruler and work with fractions
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Ability to lift and drag up to 75 lbs
• Comfortable with physical work (standing, bending, kneeling, crawling)
• Ability to work at a fast pace with repetitive tasks
• Strong commitment to safety and attendance
• Previous general labor, construction, or machine operation experience preferred
• Industrial sewing experience is a plus, but not required
• High school diploma or GED
