Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Jobs in North Jackson, OH | 1st Shift Manufacturing & General Labor Opportunity

The Advance Group is hiring Industrial Sewing Machine Operators for a growing North Jackson, OH company that manufactures and repairs heavy-duty tarps for semi-trailers. This is a first shift position with hands-on training provided!

Responsibilities for the Industrial Tarp Sewing Positions:
• Measure, cut, assemble, repair, stencil, and sew large tarps for semi-trailers
• Operate industrial sewing machines, grommet machines, heat sealers, heat guns, pallet jacks, and other equipment
• Read rulers and perform measurements involving fractions
• Add and subtract fractions while measuring materials
• Move materials from the ground to tables which involves bending, kneeling, and crawling
• Utilize hand tools and manual machinery throughout the production process
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
• Read and interpret work orders and written instructions
• Lift and drag materials weighing up to 75lbs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements for Industrial Tarp Sewing Position:
• No previous sewing experience required — training provided
• Previous machine operating, construction, manufacturing, or general labor experience preferred
• Experience using hand tools and manual machinery required
• Strong math skills and ability to read a ruler accurately
• Ability to add and subtract fractions
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Dependable, reliable, and eager to learn
• Ability to work at a fast pace and perform repetitive duties
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, kneel, and crawl throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and drag up to 75lbs
• Safety-conscious mindset required
• Industrial sewing experience is a plus
• High School Diploma or GED required

Hours for the Industrial Tarp Sewing Positions:
• Monday-Friday 6am-5pm
• Must be available to stay until 6pm as needed
• Some overtime on Saturdays may be required

Compensation for the Industrial Tarp Sewing Positions:
• $17/hr
