The Advance Group has partnered with a leading manufacturing company in Westland, MI to hire 2 Grinder Operators for a hands-on metal casting and foundry production environment.

You will be responsible for finishing and inspecting metal castings to ensure they meet customer and engineering specifications.

This is a strong opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment.

Job Responsibilities – Grinder Operator

As a Grinder Operator, you will:

• Grind and finish castings to customer and engineering specifications.
• Operate hand tools and equipment including hand drills, air hammers, and bandsaws.
• Inspect finished parts and verify dimensions meet quality standards.
• Safely handle and move castings and materials throughout the production process.
• Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards.
• Follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

To be successful in this Grinder Operator role, you should have:

• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Experience in manufacturing, foundry, or metal finishing preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfort working in an industrial production environment

Work Environment

This is a foundry and metal casting production facility, which includes:

• Fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
• Exposure to heat, noise, and metal fabrication processes
• Strong emphasis on safety and PPE compliance
• Team-based production work

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Voluntary overtime available on Saturdays

Pay & Growth Opportunity

• Starting pay: $15.50/hr
• Increase to $16.00/hr upon hire-in
