Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and brake system issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Complete preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid checks.
- Conduct safety inspections before and after repairs.
- Perform trailer maintenance and repair as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance performed, and replacement parts.
- Ensure all equipment meets company and regulatory safety standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Diesel Mechanic Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Technician, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brake systems, and trailer repair.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Welding experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass a background check.
