The Advance Group has partnered with a manufacturing company in Dundee, MI who specializes in innovative products, pipe support, and protective products in the plumbing and electrical industry.
We have immediate openings for full-time Die Setters on 1st shift.
Responsibilities of the Die Setter:
- Set up all presses, including coil changes, chutes, and blow-offs
- Properly adjust press parameters
- Store dies, parallels, conveyors, and chutes appropriately
- Utilize quick die change techniques
- Ensure all tools are properly labeled
- Support operators during production runs
- Obtain setup approval for each part and maintain a sample board
- Develop and standardize setup procedures to reduce setup time
- Stage and plan dies; provide production-related suggestions
- Perform maintenance duties within capability
- Ensure process readiness prior to operator assignment
- Troubleshoot dies, coil presses, feeders, and maintenance-related issues
- Complete first-piece quality inspections for every setup
- Navigate and utilize PLEX ERP software
- Participate in production meetings and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements of the Die Setter:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Previous experience operating overhead crane
- Experience driving hilo/industrial truck
- Ability to read tape measure and quality instruments
- Ability to read and interpret product plans
- Basic computer and math skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Good time management and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to lift 1–50 lbs and stand/walk for 8+ hours
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 60–100°F
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability and willingness to cross-train
Hours for Die Setter:
- First Shift: 6am-3:30pm
- Must be available for overtime: 6am-4:30pm and some Saturdays.
Compensation and Benefits for the Die Setter position:
- Starting pay $18.00-$19.00/hour depending on experience
- Pay increase and benefits upon hire
